The UK duo of Alison Golfrapp and Will Gregory have brought us an aural synth frenzy with their second release ‘Black Cherry’. A few things come to mind when I listen to this record. This lady I see out at clubs, strutting around with a Murakami Louis Vuitton purse, her jet black straight hair swaying down under a fuzzy black Tam hat. A bright “fuck-you yellow” boy-beater with hot pink rhinestones. She flash-dances seductively to Goldfrapp’s, ‘Train’ while slugging back Grey Goose on the rocks. Possibly, some black electrical tape thrown for kink. Alison Goldfrapp’s voice is silky, sweaty velveteen. When people mention sex records, expect this one to get dropped into the list. - Gabe J
