The Good The Bad and The Ugly offers its viewers some of the greatest chase-for-gold-action ever processed on film. Grab your chewin’ tobacco, some outstanding American lager and a tattooed cowgirl ’cause this movie has everything you need, man. Stars: Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef This movie is by far the best western film ever made. Hands down. It is also one of the weirdest. When I was little, this movie was my all-time favorite. Next to Star Wars of course. Due to the movie being filmed in Italy, the voice-overs, overdubs and super-Italian looking actors always tripped me out. Plus, the magnificent (I don’t think I’ve ever used this word before except in a sarcastic fashion), eerie soundtrack that accompanies this film takes it up a notch on the Trip-o-meter. The Good The Bad and The Ugly offers its viewers some of the greatest chase-for-gold-action ever processed on film. Grab your chewin’ tobacco, some outstanding American lager and a tattooed cowgirl ’cause this movie has everything you need, man. Guns, nuns, blazing hot suns, shoot-outs, and unforgettable old man quotes like the one after Lee Van Cleef wastes the guy in the bathtub; “if you’re gonna shoot, shoot! Don’t talk!” Clint Eastwood also has his share of wise cracks and smooth criminal bravado. And, there’s a comedic undertone happenin’ every time Clint shoots the hats off the unsuspecting local-yokels. Towards the end of the movie, there’s a tremendous Civil War battle complete with a drunk-on-whisky General who’s been relentlessly trying to capture a bridge from the Confederate army. Random fact About This Movie; apparently, the director invested six weeks of precious filming time and 500 workers to build a 300 foot damn and bridge for this scene. Then they blow the frickin’ thing up. To say that Mr. Leone had an extravagant budget for this movie is an understatement. Go rent this movie. Now.
