It seems as Boston starts to heat up, your wallet starts to shrivel with it. Well Scion: Metro has just the cure for the mid summer slump, a free concert series climaxing with an Exclusive Prince Paul show this Thursday at Axis. Yes, it’s free. And I don’t mean free like free with purchase or free when you sign up for 6 months of service, I mean legit free.

For those who are unfamiliar with Prince Paul should immediately drop their G-Unit CDs and better recognize. Prince Paul has produced for hip-hop’s finest over the past two decades including KRS-One, De La Soul, and Big Daddy Kane. In the late nineties he formed the Handsome Boy Modeling School with fellow beat innovator Dan the Automator (Gorillaz.) HBMS released there second LP the critically acclaimed “White People” in Late 2004.

Paul has recently severed ties with Handsome Boy Modeling School and his desire to work with De La Soul has not been met with the same amount of enthusiasm on the other side. But by no means is Paul sitting at home watching reruns of Deal or No Deal. He is working on a project with Bernie Worrell, the former Parliament organ player. The exact specifications of the project are up in the air but Paul is determined to make something more than your average jazz-hip hop album. He also admits to scoring a pilot for a cartoon but cannot reveal the name for confidentiality purposes.

All you have to do to attend Prince Paul’s exclusive free show @ Axis is RSVP before 5pm on July 20th.
