Scion: Collections, one of the illest art shows hitting the west coast, is set to kick off this Saturday in Culver City, California. The events aim is to give the gallery’s visitors a view into the minds of some of the best artists in the urban world. The nine artists selected in the gallery will be on hand with….. You guessed it, their collections. Each artist alongside essays and bios that explain the artwork will also have their various personal collections. May it be stamps, hot sauce bottles, or toe nail clippings from porn stars; one could expect anything from these progressive artists.

Some of the artists that will be featured include Adam Wallacavage, Dalek, Francesco LoCastro and Cambridge’s own Caleb Neelon.

The exhibit is being curated by Swindle Magazine. Swindle Quarterly is the authoritative pop culture publication for men and women ages 18-34. They specialize in music and art that is usually over looked by the “cool-hip-trendy” magazines of mainstream America. Swindle is available at many fine outlets across the country.

Collections opening event is from 7-10 pm this Saturday, July 22nd. There will be live screen-printing by Faction and guests are invited to bring clothing and other items to be decorated. Most of the art featured will be on sale. The gallery will be on display until August 10th, 2006.
