Ok, so it has been awhile since I have been able to write anything on the site. No, contrary to popular belief I did not lodge a thumb in a porcupine’s rectum (it was actually a goat.) But seriously, this past week I hopped in a van and drove 14 hours to Scribble Jam located in the cultural hub of America, Cincinnati. (And by cultural hub I mean a place where farmers meet up on the weekends to find antiques.) But really though, I went to Ciny for Scribble Jam (see scribble jam turns ten article.) There were tons of awesome booths at Scribble Jam and I plan to share with you my personal favorites over the next few weeks.

First and Foremost, I gotz to talk about my homeboyz at insanatees.com. Insantees.com is a custom clothing company that boasts incredible artwork at crazy cheap prices. Out of all the booths at Scribble Jam none were able to balance talent, value, and just overall chillness than the fellas at insanatees.com

You can find Insanatees at the Survival Shop in Cincinnati, OH. The survival shop is a roots/reggae store founded by Elliot Geather and the husband/wife duo of Hector and Shanna Conesa in the spring of ‘05. Hector aka Insane is a member of the Starving Artists. The Starving Artists, which also include Fero, Rows, and Joeking, produce their custom creations at the survival shop. Thank the lord that you can order them online cause I aint taken another 14 drive to Cincinnati for some custom kicks (ok, I probably would for these guys shoes but you get what I am trying to say.)

These guys had a few samples of the work that they have done in the past. Lets just say they needed their fair share of paper towels to wipe off the drool from the sneaker aficionados walking by. My personal favorite was a green pair of Air Force ones that had some Wu Tang Killa bees and some W’s on em. A must for anyone who is down with the Clan. For all you football fans out there they had some tight Steeler and Bengal shoes ( I am snagging me a custom pair of my Chi-Town bears ASAP.) The shoes don’t look cheesy and the artwork looks way too good to be done by hand, but Hector assured me it was. These cats could easily charge three times as much as they do and the shoes would still be worth the price. Wait, fuck, I hope i didn’t give them any ideas.

The gallery on their website shows everything that they are capable of. Holla at these guys on the web or give the shop a call at 513-681-2888. The possibilities are endless and The Starving Artists will not back down from any challenge.
