Quentin Tarantino and Omar Rodriguez have collaborated before. The two first met up when Rodriguez directed “From Dusk Till Dawn” which was written and started Tarantino. They again worked together on 2005s Sin City which featured more guest directors and Hollywood A-listers than a Betty Ford Clinic reunion. Both projects contained ample amounts of sex, gore and profanity. And they are at it again.

The new project entitled Grindhouse is like nothing Hollywood has seen before (or at least in the past 25 years.) Grindhouse is made up of two separate movies (one directed by Tarantino and one by Rodriguez) combined for one hell of a double feature.

Tarantino’s section is titled Death Proof and will be in the style of an old-school slasher flick. Death Proof features some of the movie biz’s finest including Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Eli Roth, Rose McGowan, and Sydney Poitier.

Rodriquez feature is called Planet Terror which is a tribute to the blaxploitation films of the seventies (both Rodriguez and Tarantino have referred to this as the ‘golden era’ of film making.) This film will feature talent from Rose McGowan, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, and Freddy Rodriguez.

The kicker is that both films will be conjoined by fake trailers and fake commercials. Essentially Grindhouse is a tribute to the double features of the seventies that Omar and Quentin grew up watching and eventually led to two successful careers in the movie biz.
