In an era where radio waves, television screens, and record companies are owned by white conservatives the essential elements of hip-hop (and no I do now mean the four elements that “back-pack thugz” recite daily) have been lost in a world of money and greed.

The same Hip hop is readily available everywhere. A sense of variety and uncommon music has vanished from the landscape. Mixtapes have been one of the only things holding the underground industry together. They are filled with rare and exclusive jointz, some of which can only be found on the street corner they were purchased on. But there are plenty of people in the world who have beef with the mix tape movement.

The film Mixtape Inc. is a flick three years in the making. It revolves around two “bootleggers” (one of which started the first bootlegging website) and how various RIAA raids ruined these 2 cats businesses, families, and homes. Along with a history on the creation and rise of the modern mixtape many of the hard hitters in the game are featured in Mixtape Inc.

Features in Mixtape Inc. include Kanye West, G-Unit, David Banner, Lil’ Jon, Chuck D, Green Lantern, DJ Kay Slay, DJ Dangermouse, Kool DJ Red Alert, and Ron G to name a few.

The film is still in the screening process. Sounds like something you would wanna see? Well let them know and if your city shows enough love towards Mixtape Inc. they will set one up.
